September 28, 2009
6:30 pm to 10:00pm
Sir James Douglas School, 401 Moss Street in Fairfield

The Victoria Centre of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada and the Fairfield Gonzales Community Association presented another Night Sky Viewing which was held at the Garry Oak Room, Sir James Douglas School and in the playgrounds nearby.  Galileo himself was in attendance for this event!

We celebrated the International Year of Astronomy, and many attendees took the opportunity to enjoy the wonders of the night sky with telescopes provided by the members of the Victoria Centre. The inside activities included: telescopic equipment demonstrations and audiovisual presentations relating to the night sky as well as night sky telescope viewing. The inclement weather provided us with a few glimpses of the Moon for those who were especially determined!
