Geoff Jones observes using his Meade LX-200 GPS 10" SCT from his back deck in
Oak Bay. Geoff has a dog house built around his scope, so he can
leave it setup outside year round. Geoff also has a Canon Digital Rebel,
which he is just starting to use for astrophotography. He also observes
using the William Optic Red Anniversary edition apochromatic refractor for
grab-and-go use.
M10 & M22 - July 3, 2007 This is my result using
Registar stacking and combining22 images of M22. I am in a learning mode so
any observations would be appreciated.
Geoff
I've paid Geoff Jones a few visits lately trying to
give him a hand with his gear. Last week we tried imaging M13 but field
rotation kind of ruined our effort. After consulting Bruno and John on
the mechanics of alt-AZ mount, Geoff and I decided to aim the telescope
at targets closer to the horizon. This past Tuesday turned out to be a
perfect night for imaging with excellent seeing. We imaged M10 and M22
with Geoff's WO 80mm mounted on his 10" Meade. I stacked 20 light frames
of M10 and 15 light frames of M22 using ImagesPlus. The frames were
taken with Geoff's Rebel and were 30 seconds in length. I know Geoff has
been working on processing his images with Registar.
